Our Story
At DELTA Field Hockey, we’re more than just a club — we’re a family.
Our coaching and administrative staff share a unique bond, having all been coached and mentored by Darren Smallhorn, the founder and heart of DELTA. From a young age, we’ve grown together — as players, teammates, and friends — forming a deep-rooted culture of support, trust, and shared passion for the game.
That same culture is the foundation of everything we do. Our goal is to create a fun, competitive, and caring environment where players are supported both on and off the field. We are committed to giving back to the sport that has given us so much — by developing athletes, fostering personal growth, and building meaningful relationships that last a lifetime.
At DELTA, we’re proud to extend our family to you — to grow the game, support one another, and have a lot of fun along the way.
Our Mission
DELTA's mission is to help field hockey athletes-- of all skill levels-- evelvate their technical, tactical and overall knowledge of the game' skills that will help them become leaders and role models wherever they might go in life.
Our elite level coaching staff provide regular assessments, evaluations and feedback to teach and motivate our athletes to constantly ask more of themselves, be able to identify indivudals and group weaknesses, and learn how to speak up about areas in need of change, to prepare them to deal with and overcome any challenge they encounter for the rest of their lives.

"Delta" means change and DELTA Field Hockey's coaches and athletes are committed to "being the change they wish to see" on the field, in school, at work, with family, and in the local and global community.
Change begins from within. DELTA's coaches and athletes are committed to doing the hard work within so they can be the best versions of themselves.
